Radio Show #124 – Live Play-By-Play Coverage of the Annual Thanksgiving High School
Football Classic!

It was an idyllic scene on a beautiful Thanksgiving morning depicting true New England small town Americana… the yearly holiday meeting of two of Western Massachusetts’ most passionate high school football rivals, the Longmeadow Lancers hosting the East Longmeadow Spartans.  Hundreds of local residents from both towns turned out to cheer their squads and Pioneer Valley Radio was there providing live play-by-play coverage of the game.  PVR’s Kevin Casey provided the play-by-play supported by local student color callers, junior Michael O’ Shea of ELHS and senior Eddie Garibian of LHS.  The entire broadcast was sponsored by community-minded Pete’s Sweets – a wonderful locally owned and operated bakery – at 32 Shaker Road in East Longmeadow (Click here to visit their website).
