Among the unsung heroes of public service in the Valley you will find the crossing guards.

They are the unassuming people who commit hours to the safety of school kids throughout our region.

This winter, when the temps were in the teens, if school was in session, they were still resolutely stationed at our crosswalks and intersections.

Why would Karen Levinsky devote her time to this calling in this winter weather?

The answer is easy… she loves kids!
